Cam Newton fight video: Brawl at ‘We Ball Sports’ 7-on-7 football tournament in Atlanta goes viral on social media

Cam Newton was all over social media on Sunday for a viral fight at a 7-on-7 football tournament in Atlanta.

"We Ball Sports" was having its annual invite-only 7-on-7 flag football tournament that rewards up to $5,000 in cash prizes for the winning team.

It is unclear if Newton got jumped, initiated the argument, or was breaking up a fight, but the former NFL star was caught on video trying to hold off at least four other people.

You can find the viral video below.

Cam Newton fight: Video of brawl at 7-on-7 football tournament

Here's the long version of Newton engaging in the viral fight. It appears Newton was already in an argument that had turned slightly physical, then he got punched from behind, leading to an all-out melee. Four different people were going after the former NFL MVP, but it is not known exactly how the altercation began.

Users on social media were quick to speculate that Newton was holding off a group known as the "TSP Crew," a team that was playing in the 7-on-7 tournament, though it's yet to be confirmed if that is the case.

At the end of the video, Newton can be seen smiling and walking toward someone before yelling, "I got something for you" off camera.

In an interview 105.3 The Beat, a radio station in Atlanta, TSP coach TJ Brown, who is also the co-CEO, apologized for the actions that occurred.

"That should’ve never happened," Brown said. "We should’ve been able to sit down and talk. There’s no reason we should be yelling at each other while a game [is] going on. Ain’t none of that necessary."

Brown said that the he and his colleague are no strangers to Newton and his behavior. The TSP coach detailed how Newton's trash talk is "not new" and that it was "typical" of the former NFL QB.

"Cam [Newton] has an organization. It’s not just one team, it’s an organization," Brown explained. "It’s just been a lot of trash talk, more so his side. Just out of nowhere, just talking crazy to us for no reason. It’s not nothing new. I’ve been around for five years, so this, typical Cam Newton behavior.”

The TSP coach discussed what specifically was said by Newton, which some of his insults directed at Brown's brother, Steph, who is also a coach with the group. He explained that Newton was "talking crazy" the last two days, adding behind-the-scenes details that weren't shown in the viral clip.

"Cam's in Steph's face, 'I made y’all. I’m responsible for everything y’all do,'" Brown said. "Then he grabbed Steph. So me … my little brother … I’m walking up a flight of steps and I see a 6'6″ guy grabbing my brother … That’s what everybody’s seeing. Nobody’s seeing how he was talking crazy the past two days."

Newton has not yet spoken on the incident.

Who is the 'TSP Crew'?

TSP stands for TopShelf Performance, which is an "18U National 7v7 Program," according to their official Instagram page.

TopShelf Performance is confirmed to be one of the teams participating in the "We Ball Sports" 7-on-7 tournament.

This is a developing story, and this article will be updated as more information is available.
